Mohammed is a pupil in Grade 5. He doesn’t like sport very much & battles to make friends. His parents, while on holiday in Europe , took him to see a concert performance of a philharmonic orchestra. Mohammed sat and listened to the music that played to his ears and his heart. He turned to his parents and said “I know what I can do now so I don’t have to be sad anymore.” Mohammed had found a goal and a purpose. Now he knows he wants to learn the French horn & become a music teacher.
These two young people found their purpose in music, through the only universal language on the planet as spoken by an orchestra. In a world where individual identity is depleting and communities are becoming more and more self-focused, music is one of the few inspirations left that can unite people across cultural, racial and language barriers. Music in the form of pop, rock, classical or ethnic sounds speak in rhythms & beats that touch & affect humanity in ways that no propaganda, advertising or media could ever attempt to replicate. People place their memories to music. People write lyrics to express & share their life experiences. People compose music to lyrics & create lyrics for music. Often people compose & arrange music just to hear the beauty of it, like Beethoven, Bach & Mozart. People live to their own rhythms and the music of their era reflects their lives. Orchestras express & unite the memories, lyrics, music & rhythms of their audiences & the history of everyday people.
This site is also about illustrating the importance of an orchestra in a society, about giving a reason to fund your community and support the belief that the UAE and its people have so much to give to the unity of mankind and cultures.

Nisha is in Grade 10. She has been learning the Clarinet since she was 12 years old. When she turned 14 she joined a youth orchestra and started to learn about how different instruments and sounds can work together. She decided she wanted to utilise her music in a career. When she did an advertising project at school she made her goal to create innovative corporate music to enhance company and organisational identities through TV & Radio.
The maintenance and life of an orchestra shows, that the youth of today, the adults of today and the spirits of yesterday should not be denied a platform of expression. They should not be denied the joy they feel when individual instruments unite to create sounds that move their souls and show them that life is good, that there is hope & passion & inspiration right on their doorstep. People watching, listening, teaching, composing, arranging & playing music come together, without prejudice or restriction, for a moment in time when “their” orchestra plays “their” music. They should not be denied what is firmly stated in their Constitution; namely Equality & Freedom. Music & the appreciation thereof, are the epitome of the unison of peoples’ eyes & ears.
