A National Philharmonic Orchestra in the UAE

The foundation of a full-time professional philharmonic orchestra within the UAE would greatly contribute to the life of all its people, Emirati or Expatriates alike. It would further enhance the UAE's reputation as a world - leader in developing a truly multicultural society and as a thriving economic and business society. It would serve as an ambassador to all visiting tourists and would greatly enhance any events taking place. Furthermore it could provide regular entertainment in the area to all its residents and combine the divers cultural society.
It is very important to understand, that the term "Philharmonic Orchestra" is not equivalent with an ensemble presenting purely "classical" music. It merely means an ensemble of musicians performing music "in harmony" (based on the ancient Greek word "friends of harmony"). These performances can be of any kind: classical, ethnic, popular etc. In fact, there is no limit to the variety of music an orchestra can perform.
