Artistic director Philipp Maier was lucky to get support from the Dubai Mens College HCT for this new season.

DMC is located in Dubai Academic City (find a location map here http://dbm.hct.ac.ae/LocationMap.aspx)

The UAEPO has started with regular rehearsals on August 31st at the fantastic auditorium at DMC and the orchestra is looking forward to many concerts there.

UAE Philharmonic Orchestra collaborates with the Staatskapelle Dresden

Musicians from the famous Staatskapelle Dresden will support the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra's performance at 8th Al Ain Classical Music Festival. The collaboration was made possible through the generous support of the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi and Lufthansa German Airlines.

The Staatskapelle Dresden will perform the first all - Wagner program in the UAE under Fabio Luisi on March 8th at the Emirates Palace Hotel as part of the Al Ain festival.

The participation of members of the Staatskapelle Dresden in the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra means not only another step forward in terms of orchestral development in the UAE but also will help the UAE's only full orchestra to gain further professional experience.

"It is wonderful to have musicians from one of the most famous orchestra in the world participating in our concert and a big honor for the UAEPO to be able to welcome them in the ensemble. Performing with these high - caliber musicians means a considerable increase in experience for all UAEPO members. We hope that this is only the beginning of an extended relationship between the two orchestras", says Philipp Maier, the UAEPO's CEO & Artistic Director.

The UAEPO's concert in Al Ain takes place on Monday, March 10th at 8 pm.

Below you can hear recordings of the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra performing Darrol Barry's "5 Arabesques".

More works of Mr. Barry will be featured in future UAEPO concerts.

UAEPO performances of "Jazz meets Mozart" a resounding success !

The two performances in the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and DUCTAC in Dubai were a resounding success for the UAEPO and it's guest artists, the Australian Jazz Quartet (Jamie Oehlers, Sam Anning, Tom O'Holloran and Mike Pigneguy), vocalist Cedric Vandenschrik and solo oboist Margrit Anne Deppe.

Both performances were booked out and the audiences enjoyed the unique and special program featuring some of Mozart's most popular works in a completely new context.

SAE Dubai is in the process of producing a full DVD of both concerts plus a documentary about all the preparation which went into this project.

Once more the UAEPO has shown to the UAE public that an orchestra can break new grounds in terms of musical entertainment.
